Meant in the best of ways, this has been just a memorable week because of wonderful weather, the beauty of everything in the Fall.  I have been getting with the program to coin a phrase, and I have been buying pansies and violas and getting them into the upper flower bed.  I bought some tulip bulbs as well and with the help (I finally remembered to buy one) a bulb planter, I easily got them into my rock hard soil.  I got some lemon mint too and have it started in the very end of the little landscaped area.  I hope it takes.

The pansies and the violas will be cheerful sweet faces to see during the cold dreary winter.  I love those more than any other flower.  My relationship with violets goes back to when I was a very little girl and I picked them in bunches for my dad.  The playground had about three quarters of an acre without playground equipment on it.  It was like a flood of white, yellow and purple violets each Spring in that area.  Just an enchantment to me.  I loved just being  there to enjoy the violets.  I never "got over it" and today, when Spring comes and violets pop up in my yard, it brings such a happiness to me.

I got the slides back after they had been put on a CD.  One problem is the person scanning paid no attention and laid them any old way.  So some are reversed..and most are sideways, so viewing is not so fun.  They will have to be gone over and remedied.  I will say right now that my hair was something to behold as far as style (????) is concerned.  These are during the era when I was a young mom.  My hair looked like a basketball had been fitted on my head.  We are talking major big hair.  The only consolation is..everyone else was the same way.  I had some pretty impressive looking eyebrows there a time or two until I learned the ‘joys’ of plucking my eyebrows thank goodness.  Sort of a Brook Shields look.    Oh, man,.  Never again.

These are slides I haven’t seen since they were developed so it was a treat to see the boys.  Of course I have a kazillion other pictures of them, but to see those I haven’t seen in a long time are a special treat.  Pets we had and knew are in there,  and that is a sweet thing as well..we loved them very much.

I will leave you with something I got today.  Enjoy.
