supervisors said aptly enough, "Carole, there is no such thing as good
grief." I would give him the "who asked YOU"? eye and go on with
whatever rant or assignment I had in front of me..whichever fits.
Anyway, as far as Miss Catt is concerned, this bad episode was good grief. Why? Because it got her to a best Vet (SO glad he is there now) who diagnosed what the matter really was
and better still, fixed it. I thought it was something else, because
the other Vets who saw her did not know what to look for and missed her
debilitating problem for a long time. It very hard on her. I am happy
to be wrong in my diagnosis. And I think I need to hang up my Vet
shingle as I am not good at diagnosing. I was sure she was hanging on
by a thread and really she was in a fever drinking mass quantities of
water among other things, besides exhibiting the really scary symptom
Sunday night. I don’t think she could have gone on a lot longer as the
problem had hit a pinnacle.
The good of this came about as I implied, by her having a complete
major blood workup and finding she is as fit internally as the kitten
she was. Apparently feeding her premium food pays off in health. But
the real, not imagined by me problems were addressed and she is better
each passing moment. Me..I got up and down the stairs several times at
my good friends house without too much trouble so my knee is
improving. The cat is still mad however but not as much. That caps
that twin adventure off.
Moving on.. I was glad DWTS sent Maurice home. It will break my heart
to see Cody go, so I hope it is Warren next. Competent, but not a
champ. Cody is amazing. I think Lacey should be booted off and take
Maxim with her. She is a whining witchy so and so. He’s just full of
himself and unpleasant.
Hopefully by this weekend I will be able to at least get on my treadmill. That’s another thing..I have missed my activity.
I made a reservation for all of us at one of the town’s better
restaurants for Thanksgiving dinner. One reason is, since no one (but
me) likes ham, we always have the same feast Thanksgiving and
Christmas. Everyone in my family is picky about food. The traditional
foods, many of them are enjoyed by maybe one or perhaps two..so..I
don’t make those which are not enjoyed by the table full unless I am
honoring that son etc. So..I gave up several years ago and we go out.
It’s worth it and no work for me. I just do it on Christmas. I made
the reservations a while ago..we are good to go. I will however make a
cake and a pie. We’ll do the traditional turkey with gravy, stuffing
and so on Christmas. It’s one of those only times really that I wish I
had a dishwasher. Those at the end of my wrists make do though.
Ah…someone came out and wants to be PETTED!! And is purring. BYE!
Sooooooooo glad Miss Catt is feeling better. They scare you half to death when they are sick because like babies they can\’t talk and you just try and figure out and like you I let my vet do the fixin. I\’ll never forget the day my precious Liem (one of my minature schnauzer) had a stroke, I called the vet and he called it a seziure and I knew better and I insisted he see him right away and sure enough a stroke, by taking him to the vet I got to keep him three weeks before he passed. Seeing my dog have that stroke scared me to death and I never want to see another dog have a stroke in my life. Ok didn\’t mean to drift, GOOD GREIF, glad you are better and Miss Cat Hugs, Pat
Glad Miss Catt is on the mend. Poor thing. I too think Warren should go. I think Lance is okay but he should go after Warren. We do Thanksgiving every other year so the kids can go to the in-laws with their spouse. Sometimes I still make a small turkey for here so I can have something to eat when they leave for deer hunting. Always make a pie or two. Feel the same about a dishwasher.
Good Grief gal, I am so glad Miss Catt is finally acknowledging you again by purring. I wish I had a dishwasher at holidays too and if I had room I have one. I have no room in my kitchen for one.
Glad to hear you both are feeling better. This Sunday is Thanksgiving dinner at church. My friend is baking all the turkeys and making the potato salad for 280 people. NO dishwasher….jist me LOL! I am one to round up people to help wipe dishes and make it fun. So much so people come in the kitchen as it sounds more fun than out there…LOL! Take care of you and the kitty,
glad that you found out what was going on with Miss Catt.
I think going out for Thanksgiving is an awesome idea, cos then someone else does the cooking and the clean up and I don\’t get stuck with a bunch of left overs
Good grief is good to say when your exasperated in place of other words that might come to mind ;).
A good vet is like a good doc, when you find one keep him. Glad to hear Miss Catt is feeling better by the minute. Yes you better take down your shingle lol. And am also glad to hear your knee is getting better too.
I think Cody is the best of the men on the show and hope to see it come down to him and Brooke. You\’re right too about Lacie and Maxim, just don\’t like their attitudes. They seem like they think they are God\’s gift to the world of dance. I do like her brother Benji tho. Do you remember them being on So You Think You Can Dance? He won it one year but she didn\’t. I think she was on the year after he won.
Well I hope I\’m not disturbing Miss Catt here. I would feel awful if I did.
Have a grea Wednesday.
Hugs
Sherry
p.s. BTW, I don\’t feel 61 either ;o)
Sounds like everyone is getting better. That is a good thing.
I\’m so glad Miss Catt is up on her paws again. She can now get back to her presidential duies. I\’m sure that the vice kitty had things well in hand while President Miss Catt was recovering. Now about that tax cut…
Loved that, Paul.
going out for Thanksgiving dinner! what a terrific idea….
Glad ya found a vet who\’ll take care of ya roommate! He\’s a keeper for sure! Going out for Thanksgiving sounds like a winner to me! Have a great evening and a kiss on the head for the recovering Miss Catt. Hugs
So happy to hear that you and Miss Catt are on the mend. I will continue to keep both in my prayers and close to my heart.
I hope you and your guys have a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
I wanted you to know that I recieved the most beautiful gift today. If I was using pen and paper right now there would be tears of joy all over this page. You are such a sweet dear friend and a true angel. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness. I\’m taking my angel with me on the boat so that both you and Miss Catt will be there to watch over me.
God bless you dear friend and just know that your friendship is priceless.~(((((((((HUGS))))))))(to Miss Catt also)~Marilyn~
Well I did come out and I could use some petting but, I am not purring! Oh well glad to be here anyway.

Sometimes changing Vets makes all of the difference in the world.
Love ya,
Al
It is so good to read that Miss Catt and Ms Diva are both coming along nicely. Big grins going around at our house. We will be having ham, to celebrate the American Thanksgiving in honor of K, since we had turkey for the Canadian version. Have a good evening over there. Hugs.
Use fancy paper plates, hon! I don\’t have a dishwasher either, and that\’s what I do. get the really thick kind of paper plates.
YOu and Miss Catt keep improving! Warm hug, Frana
"Good grief" is good for me. If we stopped and analyzed half of the sayings we used we would never say much.
Good grief, this is a good post. Hug Miss Catt for me, smootches and kisses too. See you again soon.
Just checking on you and miss catt and I hope you are feeling better. hugs, Sidney
HOpe you are both feeling better soon!
Most awesome news about Miss Cat! Glad the new Vet was able to put your mind at ease and fix the real problem too.
As for Thanksgiving … can I come? LOL Just kidding!! LOL
Good Grief people can be picky!!!! I am so glad what Miss Catt has is fixable… but you have me dying (or is it dieing… no that is fabric, isn\’t it… Ha.. a Ph.D. and I still can\’t spell) to know what she has… Sharing might help others with a similar problem…
Good Grief is a great expression—always reminds me of Charlie Brown! Glad Miss Catt found a competent doctor finally! I\’m at my wit\’s end with my cat, Caruso. He has, what is termed Cat Herpes, and they say it is uncurable. With all the medical technology out there, why can\’t they cure this. It\’s not like human herpes. It inflames his gums and makes it hard for him to eat anything not soft. And Caruso is a very food-oriented cat…not large, but loves to eat!
Good morning…
I was just at Babblelot and Cindy’s…Everyone is talking about food and I have not had breakfast yet…
I know…Breakfast is the most important meal. You probably know that it means: Break Fast. Thats when we start up our metabolism.
Good Grief eh…I can picture you saying that…A lot too…
Actually, maybe there is such a thing as good grief. When we persevere through our trials we come out better on the other side in victory and hopefully a better person. I wouldn’t change a thing about my life. Sure some things really sucked. But I like to think I am a lot better and more thankful person on the inside. But then that is just man’s opinion.
Speaking of change…Aren’t you glad you quit smoking. It wouldn’t have sent you to hell. It just made you smell like you have been there. Yep…That’s where you say, “Good Grief!”
I’m glad Miss Catt is doing better. I wouldn’t have known what to do either…Maybe pull her paw and listen for escaping gas???
I’m going to have my son bring my stationary bike upstairs today and put it in my library next to my desk. I have to keep my legs moving in the winter time.
OK…I rambled again…Good Grief!
Have a tremendous Thursday…Greg
Here kitty…kitty…Let me see your paw.
It\’s very good that Miss Catt\’s grief has been found and treated, animals are so stoic when they are hurting, it can be difficult to tell what\’s up with them. Ham is one of my favorites, have a slice for me. Take care of your leg and take it easy but excersize so you can get out and enjoy taking photo walks with your new camera that you will get.
Good grief…that\’s an oxymoron I never thought of! It\’s so good to hear Miss Catt is improveing quickly. It\’s so hard having a sick pet…and they can\’t tell us where it hurts.
I\’d love to make reservations for Thanksgiving…but that\’ll never happen. Not with turkey being someone\’s favorite meal.
