Well, I got to see the new Star Trek movie on Saturday..and by the way I was surprised that they had four people there marking down the gender and approximate age of the movie goers. One of the boys was even asked what he thought of the movie. I wish they had asked me too. There were not too many of us in the theatre..about 100 people that had been invited.
I am here to say, they got it right. I am a hard core Star Trek fan..that includes the old series, the New Generation, DS9, and Voyager. I did not like the one called Enterprise that was made with Scott Bakula as the Captain. I like him in all his roles previous to that one. He stank as a Captain. Even his (Bakula) voice was all wrong. However, be that as it may, this movie was great! If a hard core fan as myself can like it what with a new person (of course) playing Capt. Kirk, Mr. Spock, Lt. Uhura, Bones, Sulu and Chechoff…(spelling) then you know it has to be good. And it was. It was simply terrific. Jade, if you read this, you have a treat coming when you go. There were surprises..delightful ones and things to discuss and think over,
Found out through a friend who has a cat too that Miss Catt may have a thyroid problem. She has continued to drink too much water..and there is one behavioral change which I have blogged about, that being her hollering and going on making announcements each time she goes to take a drink. I told the Vet about it on Friday and he suggested a thyroid test. She has had her baseline thorough blood analysis and urinalysis and each was as if she was a kitten they were so good. However, the behaviors continue. He said that if she was going to have a problem, this is the one to have as they can treat this problem. All other causes have been ruled out. So now I have to trick her into the carrier. With her not sleeping on my bed as much, ain’t gonna be as easy as it was. I was able to go snuggle her up in my arms from her sleep on the bed, walk slowly down the hallway and suddenly put her in the carrier. If I have to scoop her up from the floor she’ll have more time to get away from me. Wish I had a transporter beam.
Meanwhile, I need to do a few things and them I will try to get around to some of you and check on you. (((HUGS)))
Fellow hard core fan I am also- (and I agree about Enterprise)I am SO relieved to hear your opinion!!!!!!!MAN do I have a link for you & your family-granted maybe you already watched \’Of Gods & MEn\’ Good luck w/your MissK. I sure hope you find out what the problem is.
Blessings, I am here to say I deliberately didn\’t read pass "they got it right" in fear that there may be a give away because i want to see it. "they got it right" is enough motivation for me to see it, I think i will do that with my sister since she is the trek head. Take care and have a great week.
I\’m so jealous! Suzy and I go next week. Sigh… I guess we can wait. I can often tell the true hard-core Trekkie\’s by their response to this question, "What movie is the best Star Trek movie ever?" :o)
I have to confess I have never seen any of Star Trek movies. I am glad you had such a good time though and that you had a safe trip.
Cool as to the movie, : ( as to sick feline.
Dear Carole, Glad you enjoyed the movie. Can\’t wait to see it. Hope the Vet is right and that Miss Catt is back to her old self in no time at all. Do hate seeing the original Capt. Kirk on talk shows because he comes off as a bloated affected twit. Yikes!Beam me up Sweetie! andAs ever be well
I feel so bad about Miss Catt. Now what can they do about it. You have me almost in tears. If she was mine I sure would be. You know me that way.I never like Star Trek or SiFi movies. Hmmm . I hope Im not the only one.Give me True to Life any day.Have a great rest of the day . Hugs to Miss Cat and You too. :)Hugs and big ones.Lisa xo
Carole, even though I\’m a hard core dog person I feel for Miss Catt. Let\’s hope it is something treatable. Can\’t wait to see the new flick.
Miss Catt is so precious, I hope it\’s treatable..hugs, from Me and Kassey
oh, hugs for Miss Catt… I hope she will be ok and the vet can treat her quickly. hugs, lottemae
Glad you enjoyed the movie. I hope to see it sometime. Sure hope it is the thyroid for Miss Catt, so it\’s treatable. Your dianthus is beautiful.
OK the new ST movie is on my list, may take me awhile though, I hate spending time in a movie theater when it\’s summer in Alaska, it\’s a weird feeling when you get out and it\’s broad daylight, even at night. We are pulling for Miss Catt, Bonnie and me, but Bonnie is a little scarce right now,see I went to work at the Gallery today and when I got back and opened my computer room door, there she was!Locked in all day, but she had her favorite window to watch and a good nap spot too, so she\’ll be lovey dovey again in no time :)>Hugs from a warm sunny Alaska (almost like a real summer in America!)
Glad you enjoyed the movie, Hubby is the star trek fan here so I know he will go see. Hope Miss Catt does ok, as I know you are so attached to her. Did I tell you I may be getting two minature schnauzers again?? I\’m so excited. I\’ve missed my Schnauzers so. I don\’t know if you knew or not I lost them both to cancer in 2007 within 4 months of each other. Ok, didn\’t mean to type all of that. You have a good week. Hugs, Pat
I loved the old Star Treks, but I have never been into any of the new ones. You have made me want to see the movie though. Hope the kitty is doing better by now.
Oh I have no doubt that they tried really hard to ge tthis movie right. What did you think of the guy\’s performance who played SPOCK?.. It is sooo hard to see anyone in that role. I too have seen most all of the series. Hope you are able to get ms catt to the vet. Hugs : )
Keeping my fingers crossed for Miss Cat.Love ya!!
It was a bad news for MIss Catt, I hope she hasn\’t thyroid problems? my good friend has the thyroid operation…Does Miss Catts has swollen her throat? I just wondering as same as human ….Hope you can sleep well tonight Sis! thinking of you, XXXOOO
Awww dear Carole, my prayers are with the Princess as I call her. I hope she can be treated and will do better, I know how upsetting this can be as they are like our babies. Hang tough sweety and I will be thinking of you.God bless you both…………..Rusty ((HUGS))BIG cuddles for her.
My boys are huge Trekkies so I\’ll tell them you recommend the new movie. Hoping it\’s jut a thyroid issue with Miss Catt but from the sounds of it she\’s pretty healthy otherwise. Keep us updated, we can\’t have anything go wrong with our Prez.Have a great day!
I\’m glad you thought the Star Trek Movie was a winner—there have been so many bad remakes in the movies, that the thought of messing with Star Trek makes me cringe. Will watch it, when it\’s out, with an open mind, though. Thanks for the review! I just saw that they\’re doing a 4-part mini-series of Ben Hur—I can only hope they "do it right" too…it\’s hard for me to even picture anyone but Heston in THAT role…
Sorry, I\’ve never been a Star Trek fan, but glad you had a great time at the movie. Hope Miss C is doing good this morning.
I\’m not a Star Trek fan but my son can go toe to toe with the best of\’em! Yep, ya need Scotty to beam Miss Catt into the carrier. How nice would that be?
