Beth Marie blogged about her first Spaces friend today as did a few others on the comments. I thought I would re-live that a little bit today.
When I started with Spaces Live, I reminded myself many times that it was a good thing that the blog was actually a family journal for the three sons. If that was not so, I would have really despaired because NO one came to see me at ALL. If I had more than 10 hits in a week, I was amazed. Once in a blue moon there would be a strange URL..I would click and it was one of the very VERY young folk with all the curly cues and fancy symbols and odd font. They were very frankly landing on me by mistake and I learned there would be no return visit.
One day, months after I started, a woman in her late 20’s I believe, left me a charming message..my first! She said she detested "lurking" and she wanted me to know she had been by, and that she had enjoyed the blog and would be back. She kept that promise and then..she urged me to go see her mom’s blog as well as some other adults who were her mom’s friends. I believe she felt sorry for me with no friends at all for so long. That was the start of having someone..some few..to bounce off of. Then there was the usual getting to know one another’s personalities, much as you can in the cyberworld..and making adjustments. I have long lost track of the woman who took mercy on me..I wish that was not so. She was funny and she had a strong personality..and she had an unusual occupation for a woman, just as I have always had..hers however was construction. S., I miss knowing about your days. I hope one day to run across you again. Not knowing your real name hampers my effort. You know where I am. All of the first 9 Friends are long gone. There is only one now that I became friends with then, that I still am. None other than Beth Marie.
Today, the house smells good. You know who is coming over this evening so I am cooking. He’s having the taco dish again though.
I feel 100% better yesterday thru to this minute. I had quite a bug or something like that going on. Pretty miserable going for a few weeks but it’s over. Yippee!
By the way, I am jonesing for Campbell’s bean with bacon soup. I have had a can a day for lunch all week long and the past weekend too.
Who’s up for refrigerator cleaning? Volunteers? Hm? You? No?
Pimp your coffee mug!
Meee! I love to clean other peoples stuff!Good post- I shall have to do one like that soon…
You can only volunteer to clean someone else\’s refrigerator when your own is sparkling, therefore, I must pass on yours! Glad to hear you\’re at 100% today. Great post! Beth\’s a wonderful friend to have. Love\’n hugs

Toodie was my first friend and I remain ever grateful to her! It amazing how a person can sit there for the longest time and nobody notices then people come by and are so awesome…I just love that! Some good soup sounds nice what else could suit a day like today where it\’s only thirty degrees?
You were one of my first contemporary friends… I look in every day. but I only have a few I stop by to visit daily. Take care… Marilyn

So is today First Space Friend Day or Pimp your Coffee Mug day? I think I lost a day somewhere. Well anyway, it will give me something to write about today. Nice memory of your first friend. Sorry, I\’m allergic to cleaning refrigerators.
My first spaces friend is still around but most of the originals are gone. I have been doing this for about a year and a half and my regulars have dwindled down to 7 or 8 people. You have been most loyal Carole and for that I thank you as I thank the others who show up. My \’fridge is clean (that\’s a relative term). It is certainly uncontaminated by food.
I think you were one of the people I blogged with in the first few years and always had to come back to see what "that dern cat was up to." Your sense of humor kept bringing me back. My daughter was the person who first introduced me to blogging. She is married and busy now but I will always be grateful for her bringing me to msn spaces. We had "refrigerator buffet" for supper last night so today we start fresh. Mr. G. made eggs for breakfast and we will be having porkchops for supper. Have a great weekend and I am certainly glad you are one of my blogging friends. hugs, lottemae
No, no, no. iI hate to clean the fridge. I let it go until I am ashamed of it and then I clean it. I am not ashamed of mine yet, but I am getting there.I am so glad you are feeling better.
Okay, have to admit it, I\’m one of those \’lurkers\’. I have been enjoying the antics of Miss Katt, and you for some time. You usually make me smile. For some reason I put off sending friendship requests to anyone. I think it\’s time to mend my ways. :)) Oh, I don\’t particularly enjoy cleaning the fridge…it\’s one of those necessary evils from time to time.
I stopped by earlier today started reading….and of course came away with an idea for a blog. Alas…I forgot to leave a comment. I always want to thank you for giving me the idea for a blog topic. As for pimping my mug….I will, as soon as I can find it. I\’ve been searching high and low for it. I\’ll betcha anything it is in Hubby\’s van. He is notorious for taking mugs, thermoses etc. and forgetting to bring them back into the house. I will have to look tomorrow…and probably wash the poor thing before I can take a picture. But a picture will be posted (probably not tomorrow, but by Sunday for sure.Sorry Carole….I don\’t do Fridges….I eat leftovers out of Fridges so if I can help you out there I will…but as for cleaning….ask Bob, sounds like he is game.Have a wonderful weekend, my first ever Diva friend on spaces (with Miss Katt, a close second).(((Hugs)))
Dagnabbit…I forgot to proof read again before I pushed the add button. The third sentence should read "I ALSO want to thank you for giving me the idea for a blog topic. But as a footnote I would like to add….I ALWAYS thank God that we became blogging buddies….it is a privilege.
Well! It\’s has been a long time we are blogging without boringlol! mine was Marie Sensei (sensei means teacher) Sweeti & Hmstdldy,Vijay Rita, and you but other\’s as you said all buddies are gone hopefully they \’ll be back again….I still remember that when you retired then you thinking about more toward to educate yourself but you didn\’t do that Sis! Some way I\’m glad you decided to blogging there we are became good buddies,Thank you Sis!By the way about the fridges that I thought was funny the last weekend I wented over your home …you must been go out your friends, there as usual a little talk to Miss Catt and I look in the fridges "nothing" only a bottle of water that I don\’t wanted it…Now I knew who\’s ate all yummy food which you left for me …..I\’ve told you please put my name on the plate Okidokeylol!see yeah! XXXOOO
I view our blogs as diaries where we share our opinions, and get to know each other better. The more we get exposed to people from other cultures and their opinions, the more chances there are for world peace and cooperation. And if in the process, we make friends with many folks, that\’s a great deal!
SIS awww what a story. I wish you knew where she was now. I know where mine is but she doesn\’t use Spaces much anymore.Fun times blogging has given me that is for sure and people I am so so grateful for. As far as cleaning goes yep.. I did my cleaning out the other day. It was a mess. B&B soup is so salty but yummy.. hope your day is a good one : )
Great Blog. It took me a back a few years to some of my Friends that are still here and come around to ones that left and I felt broken. It happens . One off my Fist Friends was Geri and she still comes around and I still visit her. No thanks for the Refigerator… I detest that job. Have an Great day. Thanks for stopping to see Fred. He is a cutie and full of fun and one big Spoiled Baby.
Good morning…I apologize for not being on Spaces much lately. Every time I think I can catch up with friends I get a call, “Dad…What you doing? Can you watch Charlee.” Of coarse I don’t mind. However, she now reminds me of someone. She is like a stumpy little Zippy.I remember when I started blogging. A day after Thanksgiving when I was bored and decided to try making a blog here on MSN. Just tinkering around with no expectations. Steph out in Idaho was my first blog bud, “Kitty Catitude.” There are some other first time blog buds who have come and gone too. I find that interesting. My daughter Emilee loves that Campbell’s bean and bacon soup too. She loved it when she was a child. She will be home in a couple of weeks from college for the summer. I am surprising her in June for her 21st birthday by flying in her boyfriend here to Branson. I purchased the plane ticket last weekend and he is all excited and she will be so surprised. So glad you are feeling better. Have a super duper Saturday…That Greg guy
Hummmm guess I am going to back in history and write about the people I first meet onSpaces. and get a photo of my coffee mugs…have a great day got pix of Toby on site today…
That was a neat story. I always try to read a comment when aI read a blog, but sometimes I have to think and come back later. I understand that there are those who don\’t leave comments and that is fine too.
