Well, today come the house washers. Yesterday the arborist. And trust me, the house needs a good house washing outside. I have cream color siding and a kazillion trees. Everyone’s home along here has algae growing to one extent or another on the N/E side of their houses as all of us back onto a forest. Mine is no exception. Added to that is a film of dust that is stuck on there as would any thing that had been out on weather constantly. It’s been just over 2 years. I wish I didn’t have to have it done. And no, I won’t do it myself. There’s a limit to what I do and washing houses ain’t one of them so I have to ante up the money to have it done. They’ll be here shortly. I just went out and brought in all the plants who are Summering out there. That in turn means they must all go back out when the washing is finished.
A friend of mine here in town made a good suggestion last evening. She said go to the Municipal building and have them look up and see where my trees are. I may be…pardon the expression..ahem, barking up the wrong tree. Could be it IS my duty and not theirs but I will go in person and find out instead of the phone deal.
I have to remain here because of a piece of siding, and needing to tell the guys the combination of the door to under the house where the spare siding is. The person who used to mow ran over a rock apparently and it punched a hole in my siding. I have too much siding under the house due to the miscalculations of the person who put it on. If he didn’t know math any better than that, he should have told me. That sounded grouchy, but I am not grouchy at all. It’s a beautiful day again..2 sunny days in a row (rain returns tomorrow) and I am happy as a little meadowlark.
Here is a sobering piece of news that I found yesterday. I hope many people in the Country read it or something like it. Maybe the clamoring for freebies as in the clunker deal, or other "good deals" that seem to be raining down on us, want them or not, will die down some. Taxes That is the link..the word "taxes".
I need to have my house washed too, and since my neighbors bought my power washer at my garage sale I could hire them to do it. But not this year. The picture is magnificent. I love to look at tall buildings. What is the name of this one?Hugs!!
OMG – wish you hadn\’t put that tax link in ya blog! Rant day\’s not until tomorrow!!! Is that the BAC bldg? My house washer is my roommate! Love ya
The name of this building is Hearst Tower. 🙂
OH YEAH! If I could remember I would have said that myself!!!
Glad we don\’t have to "wash" our house out here. However, we DO have to deal with the dreaded black mold occassionally. But we don\’t get enough rain (especially at this time of year) for the molds to grow so fast. Taxes—yech, but necessary. How else can we expect to pay for all those bale-outs and health programs, if not for more taxes??!!!
Last year the painters pressure cleaned the house first. It was worth it in so many ways.
Oh Yes, Hi Ho… the dreaded word… TAXES. People are spending less. Businesses are doing less, property taxes are less, incomes are less…. the government intake is less… by 57% from what ABC news said last night. Here\’s something I found on it: http://www.truthandpolitics.org/top-rates.phpAnyway… have yourself a GREAT day!
PS — I forgot to finish my point 😉 Taxes will go up because the goverment revenue is down. By the figure of 57%. The US Govermnet is spending more. There are wars, military actions, assistance to 3rd world countries and lets not foget NATO, where the US is the official bully for NATO. So… it just stinks all around. We\’re going to get taxed, it\’s just a matter of what kind. I think they\’ll likely go with the VAT (Value Added Tax, also known as the National Sales Tax) because that gets the most money for the Government Buck. Ok… I\’m totally sorry about the tirade. I just got going and couldn\’t stop! 😀
Love the photo. That is an area I want to expand myself into!Enjoy the beautiful weather, and just think how nice it will be when all the work is done!
I love that picture! As to the taxes ah yeah, we\’ve only begun to see this administration continue it\’s distruction of this country. I will never understand the principle of spending your way out of debt…and by spending I mean spending what we haven\’t even made yet and then have the nerve to suggest you\’re just one of the "regular people".
I love Charlotte, it is a great looking buiding. I do my own pressure washing, but it\’s getting where I think I will hire it out too. I keep thinking if I do it myself, I won\’t get old and Stiff!! LOL But my poor old body says give it up, give it up!!! LOL. enjoy your sunshine, we have storms and lots of rain today. Love Ya, Hugs, Patsy
Lovely picture. Thought Council over there were the same as ours, they believe in taking money, not giving it.
Oh, what an awful word. Black it out. Great picture. Jack bought his own power washer so he could do the siding. Where is it. In the garage of course. Siding needs washing here too, but there is sits. Since I won\’t mess with garage stuff, it will wait until he gets good are ready. Have a good day.Hugs
A couple people remarked about me washing our house an shop with a cool looking rag swirl mop and extender pole and wash with hot bleach water from a 5 gallon bucket. I don\’t care if they chuckle, I get exercise and the bugs hate the bleach! I will hold the President to his word and taxes won\’t raise (fingers crossed). Beautiful building there. Hope the nasty storms don\’t git ya.
It seams as though you are having a bit of a rough time hope all is well with youlove and hugs Walter xxx
Oh you Diva, shame of you for saying that nasty word TAXES. Did you have to remind me? Kidding of course, two things we have to do because we have no choice, that is pay TAXES and DIE. I know what you mean about the algae growing on the side of your house, ours is the same and is due to be done but next year for sure. Our house is white and it makes it look so dirty but like you, only the north side. That side of the house doesn\’t get much sun either. Love the picture. Hope you enjoy the rest of theweek. Take care and God bless…………Rusty ((HUGS))
